Homemade Custard

One of my favourite things to do with eggs is to make a fresh custard.

It’s Great on its own, warm, or cold (my fave) and this is ready for an ice cream maker to be churned into a delicious vanilla ice-cream!

Homemade Custard


5 egg yolks
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
500ml double/whipping cream
500ml full fat milk
1Tbsp vanilla paste or essence
Pinch salt
1. 5 tsp cornflour mixed with 1tbsp water
I’ve served this with some warmed sponge Cake and some berries and fresh chocolate mint and Edible flowers for effizy

This is ready for Γ€kΓ rΓ  if you want but I’d advise you take out the vanilla..

Some more berries and cake in a glass would make for a nice looking dessert!
